A Twilight Wedding

During an extremely entertaining conversation with several of my bridesmaids, we discussed the possible themes of my wedding. I said how I wanted a twilight theme, and someone who shall remain nameless interjected, "And we can all wear body glitter!" Well, I meant a mixture of rich purples and blues with some pale yellows and oranges, maybe even salmon, but this version is way funnier.

Anyhow, in the event that I do have a body glitter and twi-hard themed wedding, I will be using this spread as inspiration. I am honestly appalled that someone probably spent thousands of dollars on something SO heinous. Who would have a black and red and rustic themed wedding? Check out page 234.

I actually have updates!

We visited several venues last weekend, and we're visiting more this weekend! Among the venues we visited were an art museum and a mansion, but we still have much searching to do to find the perfect place! Choosing a venue also means choosing food and in some cases, even a cake baker, so there is lots of research and tasting that must be completed! We like the mansions we've visited, and we also like the more modern spaces such as restaurants. The search continues!

We chose a photographer for the engagement photos, and we are having those taken next month! A HUGE thank-you to Ellie Richmond for helping us with photographs!

I finished Secret Project numero uno, and almost all of my creations are distributed! :) I have bridesmaids!! I also constructed a wedding website, but it's still pretty useless seeing as how we have no venue, and no details to share about our wedding date. But, it is more snazzy than the blog so that's exciting!

I also finished some less exciting projects that involve hours of Microsoft Excel. That's right, I collected addresses and made a fancy little spreadsheet, and Evan helped program the cells to add how many people we are planning to invite so far. Wowzers!! That's 200+ people!! We have to be careful when we're talking about how many people are coming, and always say "best case scenario of 200 people" instead of "worst case scenario"...

I will update everyone once we know more about the venue!!

My First Blog Post EVER.

Please forgive the severe lack in coding abilities, but I have officially entered the Blogosphere!! (Is that a word? If it isn't, I just made it one. I just got my BA in English so I can do that.) There are not nearly enough font and color choices to make this page beautiful, and I am not going to code a whole site just for this blog. So... this blog will continue to be ugly and hopefully my colorful language will be the material that makes it interesting!

Evan and I are engaged! Long story short, Tax Day was given new meaning when my BFFs planned me a scavenger hunt that led me to a beautiful garden and Evan was waiting there for me with the most beautiful ring. I am so blessed to be engaged, and so incredibly happy!

As soon as one gets engaged, everyone wants to know ALL THE DETAILS. Including you, that's why you're reading the blog... isn't it?! Well, this will be the place where we share exciting (and not-so-exciting) updates.

We have made some reportable progress on the wedding planning front!
1. We're actually engaged, so my planning is for real now. Believe me, that's a major plus.
2. Evan and I sat down together (what?!) and picked our three favorite venues that we're touring pretty soon. We will not reveal those quite yet, but they are each very different and very snazzy. You'll love them all!
3. I finished Secret Project Numero Uno, and the results of that will be revealed fairly soon! Sorry, I cannot give more information because it needs to be a surprise!
4. We've narrowed down our engagement photographer to TWO incredible choices, and we chose where to get our engagement photographs taken. Hint: it's a nod to my old workplace, the CBG!
5. We've thought about color schemes, but we want to see how they'll work in the space once we choose a venue.

This is a significant amount of progress, considering I'm doing most of the planning on my own right now. After Secret Project Numero Uno, I should have some more help ;)

Evan and I are so happy to be engaged! We're really enjoying our engagement and not getting silly-obsessed over wedding-related stuff. However, we do want to get our hands on a good location before they're picked over, so that's our main focus! After Senior Week, our Graduation Party, and Graduation on May 1, we will shift our focus more towards planning our big day!

Thanks for reading, and let us know if you have any suggestions!
